End of winter hollidays
Submitted by Derek on Mon, 2009/02/23 - 11:13February is coming to an end, the children are returning to the state schools and so ACT's winter classes have come to an end. We have a chance to look back over what has happened over the winter months.
Mushtak's afternoon class for the high school finished on Friday. Most of the students in this class came from Dalian's and Tianjin's Maple Leaf schools. These are special schools for students who are intending to travel abroad to study. The students greatly appreciated the classes.
Derek's morning class for middle school students also came to a close on Friday. This class contained a mix of students from local Anshan schools as well as students form Dalian Maple Leaf school. There classes contained a mix of discussions, slide shows, videos and other activities. Students had the opportunity to make some English style foods including cakes, cookies and drop scones.
We wish all our students well in the new term and hope to see them again during the summer holidays.
Recent Events at ACT
Submitted by Derek on Sat, 2009/01/10 - 23:51December 21, 2008: The anual ACT Christmas party for adults was a great success. More than 50 people attended including 10 foreign guests from England, Belgium, Canada and America.
December 23, 2008: ACT's childrens Christmas party. Attendance was far higher than expected with over 70 kids plus many parents. Games, dacing, music and KTV were among the activities as well as food, drinks and presents.
December 30, 2008: ACT's New Year party for children. More games and dancing plus food and drinks. Good fun had by all.
At 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2009: Upcoming event for parents. A free lectures on the psychology of learning by guest psychologist who is an expert on children's learning ability - Ms. Kwan-wai.
At 12:30 on January 10, 2009: Upcoming parent-teacher associations meeting with special HUA teachers and parents on the learning methods discussed in the previous night's lecture.

ACT Foreign Language Training Centre
