Begin your english study with this class. Covering the basics of English. In this course you will be introduced to the essencial English vocabularies and grammars in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Studying English at ACT is free of presure. Learning in a comfortable environment with experienced teachers, you will soon see significant results.

Is this class suitable for you?

If you are new to English study and have no previous English ability then this is the course for you. This course starts right at the beginning. It covers all the basic elements that will allow you to use English and have confidence communicating with foreign people. You will learn progresivly over the length of the course, increasing your English skills each day.

If you are going abroad for hollidays or business travel, the course will cover the essencial elements of English that you will need for a short trip. Where ever you go in the world, you will be able to use English to communicate. It is the international language. In addition, students traveling to Hong Kong have told us that this course is useful for people traveling to that city too.

What prerquisits are there?

Students attending this course need not have any previous English ability. If you have some previous English skill you should consider our Core English Course instead. This course is open to all ages of adults from High school, University, Middle Age or Retired.

What will be the end result of your study?

By the end of the course you will be able to have a simple conversation with a foreign person. You will be relaxed and confident when communicating with foreigners. You will understand a wide range of vocabularies and grammars including telling the time, giving directions to and from places, talking about your job, discussing food and leisure activities, and introducing or describing yourself and other people.

Students who have completed this course will be able to travel internationaly with confidence. Previous students of this course have reported back that they were able to do many things after completing this course such as buying things in shops or going to a restaurant.

What books and other materials will be used?

This course is based on Interchange Third Edition by Jack C. Richards and published by Cambridge University Press. The sylabis for our course is closely matched to the lessons of the Intro Interchange level (the yellow book).

What options are available to me on completion of this course?

After completing this course, students can progress onto our Core English Course where they will be able to develope their English skills further.
